“In my early professional years I was asking the question, ‘How can I treat, or cure, or change this person?’
Now I would phrase the question in this way:
‘How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?’”

Hi, I’m Victoria Abinader, a Marriage and Family Therapist and the co-founder of The Willow Collective. I’m a neurodivergent therapist (yep — I have ADHD!) who’s deeply passionate about helping others better understand themselves, their relationships, and the systems that shape them.
My work centers on connection — to yourself, to others, and to your environment. Some of the clients I love working with include: people with ADHD who want to understand how their brain works and how to work with it, adults wanting to deepen their relationships by learning how to better communicate with others, people seeking to explore their identity with some helpful guidance, those in relationships who are seeking to learn not only how to meet each other’s needs - but to understand them, and more.
My approach is relational, evidence-based, and rooted in compassionate curiosity. I integrate Gottman Method Couples Therapy, DBT skills, genograms (very elaborate and multi-layered family trees), and other introspective interventions to meet you where you are. I also provide a loooooot of psychoeducation and resources to help you understand why we’re doing the work we’re doing.
When we work together, we’ll create a plan to work toward your goals that feels realistic, empowering, and specific to your own individual needs and the factors that influence them.

As a neurodivergent therapist myself, I understand how exhausting it can feel to constantly work against your brain instead of with it. In our sessions, I’ll help you better understand your neurotype, build realistic tools for daily life, and nurture self-compassion instead of self-blame.
-
When partners experience and process the world differently, communication can get complicated. I help couples and polycules understand each other’s needs, bridge neurotype differences, and strengthen connection through empathy, structure, and mutual respect.
*What are neurotypes?
Neurotypes are distinct differences in the way people process information (thoughts, emotions, sensory stimuli, and more). Examples of different neurotypes include ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, etc.
-
You deserve a space where your identity feels not only accepted, but deeply respected. My approach is affirming, trauma-informed, and grounded in curiosity and care. However you identify or express yourself, you are safe to show up as you are here.
-
So many of us spend years masking, performing, or trying to fit into roles that don’t feel like “us.” Together, we’ll explore what feels authentic for you—unpacking patterns, honoring your story, and rediscovering the version of yourself that feels most real.
-
Family stories and cultural expectations shape us in powerful ways. I work with clients who are navigating the weight of intergenerational trauma, identity, and belonging—helping you hold space for your roots while also giving yourself permission to grow in your own direction.
-
When family dynamics start to feel tense or unbalanced, it can leave everyone feeling unheard. I help families slow down, understand what’s beneath the conflict, and learn new ways of communicating that create safety, respect, and connection at home.
